eighties1980s:

This ad is for an ABC After School Special called The Day My Kid Went Punk, which aired on October 23, 1987. It starred Bernie Kopell, who played Doc on The Love Boat and Siegfried on Get Smart, and Jay (The Boy Who Could Fly) Underwood. As a punk in Reagan-era America, I don’t remember anyone suddenly embracing the lifestyle in one day. It took time to become a punk. But this lucky kid woke up one day and he was suddenly a punk. Hopefully, he didn’t wake up ten years later as a corporate exec!
